The Apprenticeship Programme is made up of three main sections:
| Portfolio | - a record of “on the job” activities and training assessed by competent and qualified staff within the workplace |
| Technical Certificate | - off the job training (theory/knowledge) that compliments the portfolio of on the job training and meets standards set by various industry sectors |
| Functional Skills | - a generic set of skills required for any job role covering Maths, English and Computer Literacy |
To be eligible for Apprenticeships Funding, candidates must:
- Not hold a Level 4 qualification or higher
- Not be studying towards a degree qualification, or hold a degree qualification
- Hold a valid contract of employment with an employer
- Have employer consent for pursuing an Apprenticeship at the appropriate level in the relevant sector
- Resident in the country for a minimum of 3 years
