We provide Level 3 and Level 4 courses in the field of education and training under qualifications previously identified as PTLLS and CTTLS.

City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET)

The City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) was formerly known as PTLLS. This Level 3 qualification is an introduction to teaching, providing an insight into the responsibilities, roles and relationships in education and training, how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching sessions and assess and provide constructive feedback.

This QCF qualification is ideal for people wishing to enter teaching or for those working in other areas such as the Voluntary Sector or Work-Based Learning.

The Award in Education and Training (AET) is a Level 3 qualification. The course content and practical elements will be covered in a 2 week programme with classes held twice weekly. Learners will be required to complete four units, produce three assignments and complete a reflective account.

City & Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET)

The City and Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) was formerly known as CTLLS. This Level 4 qualification is a first stage teaching qualification, in which you will gain a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer, planning for inclusive learning, methods in delivering and assessing in education and training, and the use of resources in education and training.

The CET is an ‘in-service’ qualification designed for those who are working or are wishing to work as teachers/trainers in England.

The Certificate in Education and Training is delivered in 6 months in a classroom setting. This is a 36 credit qualification with 21 coming from the following mandatory units, and the remaining 15 coming from an optional unit as shown below.
