Visas
Britain welcomes students from abroad and implements highly controlled immigration laws with regard to student visas. If a student arrives without the correct documents he/she will be denied entry to the country by the UK Border Authorities. We recommend that you obtain your visa before booking flights, in case of delays or complications.
We recommend that you make the following travel and visa arrangements in advance of your departure date as it may take some time to obtain the necessary documents.
Students will require the following documents:
- Letter of Acceptance and Visa letter from the 5E College of London
(The College will send a confirmation of acceptance as a student after you have been offered a place.)
- A valid Passport and correct visa for your stay
(Obtain passport photographs, a passport, and the necessary visa and entry clearance documents. Contact your nearest VFS centre to gain latest information on forms and visa fees.)
- Original educational certificates
- Proof of financial resources available – for example a letter from your bank or a bank statement
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies
A CAS is not an actual certificate or a paper document – it is a virtual document, similar to a database record. A sponsor can assign a CAS using our sponsorship management system (SMS), which will generate a unique CAS reference number
Additional Advice
Arrange to have the necessary vaccinations done. Applicants for UK visas valid for longer than six months in certain countries now require a certificate or x-ray to show that they are free from carrying infectious pulmonary tuberculosis (TB).
The British High Commission or Embassy will advise you on the regulations. If you experience problems at immigration control, immediately telephone the Immigration Advisory Service for help (telephone +44 (0) 844 974 4000). They also have an office at Heathrow Airport (telephone +44 (0) 20 8814 1115).
