This is our main centre. All our projects are offered from here. The building contains twelve classrooms and workshops, three job search and job brokerage suites, one administration office, one boardroom and two kitchenette areas. The centre also has communal areas, catering facilities and ample off-street parking. |
We also have five well-equipped ICT suites with a fully featured CISCO lab, 2821, 2621XM, 2620XM, series routers, 3500Xl, 3560, 2900Xl, 2950 switches VLAN configuration, ISDN and frame relay.
Access
The Centre is easily accessible by public transport and is serviced by buses and rail routes to neighbouring town centres (Wood Green, Edmonton, Palmers Green and Tottenham Hale) and tube links to Central London.
All areas of the building are fully accessible, including lift, ramp and disabled toilet facilities for all staff and users.
The Selby Centre services reach culturally diverse communities facing social exclusion. Selby and the other on-site social enterprises together employ 480 full-time & part-time staff. The centre provides on-site capacity building support to the voluntary and community sector through the Haringey Training Network. It contributes towards the incubation & hot housing of social enterprises and provides Money Management advice and sign-posting access to financial support.
The Selby Centre is used by 1,000 people a day, who access training, advice, support, employment brokerage and social & cultural activities within the centre.
Selby uses arts, culture and sports to enable people to engage with learning, aspiring towards its motto of “Many Cultures, One Community.”
